We believe social integration is key to enhancing the lives of those we serve.
A major part of our mission is to encourage individuals to become active members of their community. We put great emphasis on creating opportunities for those we serve to socialize and network, which helps to develop new skills, build confidence and relationships, and create a sense of belonging.
From talent shows to special classes, city cleanup days to community gardening, ICAN offers many ways for those we serve to participate in their community.
To help individuals integrate into community life, we offer:
- a variety of life skills classes
- weekly/monthly activities like bingo and craft nights
- group outings to water parks, picnics, fairs and more
- special events like dances, movie nights and holiday parties
- planned vacations to fun places such as Wisconsin Dells
Through group activities and volunteerism, our goal is to help people with disabilities feel like valued members of their community and realize their own potential to make a positive impact on those around them.
